Our Story
Expanding the call to serve the most vulnerable in Tulsa.
We first opened our doors in 1980 as a women's shelter, born out of the Baptist Church and their commitment to caring for women in need. Over the next two decades, we outgrew our space, moved to a larger location, and became known as DaySpring Villa (DSV) — Oklahoma’s very first faith-based certified shelter for victims of domestic violence. After seeing the great need for programs and services for those who have experienced human trafficking, DSV took steps to become certified with the State Attorney General’s office to serve that population in 2012.
In 2020, DaySpring Villa became The Spring, ushering in a new era for an institution that has stood for the most vulnerable in Tulsa for four decades. With emergency crisis shelter, transitional living, and non-residential services, we’re breaking barriers to service and creating pathways for true restoration and hope.
