About The Spring

40 YEARS STRONG…

In 1980, our organization opened its doors to women in Tulsa, OK as a Baptist women’s shelter in Tulsa, OK. By 1995, the demand for a safe-haven where women could go to escape domestic violence became so great that we moved to a larger location in the Tulsa-metro area and we became known as DaySpring Villa (DSV). DSV was Oklahoma’s first faith-based certified shelter for domestic violence victims. In 2012, we became the first shelter in Oklahoma to be certified by the State Attorney General’s office — offering shelter and restoration services for victims of human sex trafficking.

Today, we are known as The Spring, and every day we open our doors to provide love and safety to victims around the state of Oklahoma and the United States. The Spring represents a new season of life for those seeking refuge and healing. Our visitors are stepping out of a dark and tiresome time seeking life-changing freedom and a new-found hope in God!

The mission of the Oklahoma Coalition Against Human Trafficking (OCAT) is to advance a multidisciplinary response to all forms of human trafficking by focusing on prevention, protection, and prosecution.

The Spring has many programs that help survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking — at any point in their journey to freedom! Just as a spring is a source of continual supply; our programs serve as a source of God’s healing and life-giving freedom for anyone who visits.

Whether a victim is still living with their abuser or have left and need support — The Spring is available to help! We also know that in order to meet our vision, we must consistently work to stop violence and help other organizations open shelters and programs for victims of abuse and human trafficking.

  • Through weekly Bible studies, God is invited to be at the center of our work at The Spring. Each woman who comes to us is hurting and in need of a heavenly Father’s love and grace.

    The Spring is a safe place to rest and find true peace of heart and in mind through Him.

  • Through therapy and case management services we aim to help survivors thrive. Our staff includes guest advocates and professionals who are experts in trauma therapies. Recognizing the diverse backgrounds of our guests, we provide services that are culturally sensitive.

  • The Spring partners with high quality, legal representation for adults and children seeking to leave abuse behind for good. We ensure each guest is equipped with a professional care team that advocates on their behalf and understands their legal needs.

  • The Spring helps to ensure that victims have a safe place to go where they and their children can find safety and care. Our team helps each guest, and their children, recover from the trauma they have experienced and regain confidence and strength to rebuild their lives.

  • The Spring offers education presentations to businesses, community groups, faith-based communities, organizations and schools! Topics can also be tailored to meet the needs of your organization. Our organization also helps other organizations with their approach and certification.

  • Support services are available to both former guests and survivors living independently in the community.
